We helped Sainsbury’s secure permission for a major supermarket development that incorporates a Grade II listed building and new, improved, town-centre access.

As part of the development, an historic brewery was restored to its former glory.  The proposals also included a new bridge and public access to the riverside, positively transforming this strategic site.  

Key to our success was securing the support of local businesses and community groups. We produced firm evidence demonstrating, at a public inquiry, that the impact on the town centre was not only acceptable, but beneficial.

Permission was secured in 2010.
