Fairlie Holdings Ltd (the parent company of Fairlie Healthcare), has been granted a full planning application by Reigate & Banstead Borough Council for the redevelopment of the former Merok Park Nursing Home site, Park Road, Banstead.
Indigo acted as planning consultants to Fairlie Holdings. Permission was granted for a new care home facility on Park Road, located in land designated as Metropolitan Green Belt.
The new facility, to be called Woodstown House, will deliver a purpose-built nursing home specifically designed to cater for patients with complex needs. It will include 40 bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, in addition to communal lounge areas, a physiotherapy room and purpose-built office space for staff.
The scheme will also create a tranquil space within the grounds of Woodstown House where people - including patients, families, carers and the bereaved – can relax, unwind and get close to nature. This will include a large sensory garden that is directly accessible from the nursing home, planned pathways suitable for large wheelchairs around the garden, shaded woodland area and wildlife pond.
