We secured consent for the restoration of the highest profile, unused theatre in the UK, safeguarding its future as part of a wider £18m regeneration project.

Permission was granted for an eight-screen cinema, two restaurants and a new public square, preserving, within a commercially viable context, the historic auditorium enclosure and façade of this Grade II listed, at-risk building.

Working closely with Historic England and local architects, we helped ensure key architectural details were retained.

With consent agreed, the building was purchased by Academy Music Group, who are working to restore it as a major cultural venue.
